Feral Cats
A feral cat is a domestic cat that has had little or no positive contact with people. They are usually fearful of people, avoid human contact, and behave like wild animals. Most adult feral cats are not suited to living as pets in a typical home. However, kittens (depending on their age), can be socialised and become happy and comfortable living in homes and form strong relationships with their people.
It is incredibly important that we can trap-neuter-release (TNR) feral cats. TNR helps prevent unwanted litters, reduces the number of cats living on the streets, and stops the cycle of breeding, (including breeding between closely related cats like siblings!). TNR also helps reduce the number of cats and kittens entering already overcrowded rescues and shelters.
