Meet Pete. Unfortunately we know from social media posts that this old man spent at least 10 years on the streets fending for himself. Until someone finally stepped up and got him help.

He arrived limping on 2 of his legs, one badly infected. He also had an open abscess on his head. His rotten mouth completed the street cat look.

Of course he wasn't neutered and due to his tough stent on the streets, he's now FIV positive. He also had a significant umbilical hernia that needed fixed.

Now neutered, chipped, dental done and wounds cleaned, he's looking for his very own retirement home (or even a foster home short term) I'm not sure he'll ever be a lap cat. And he knows his own mind. If things are not done his way or speedy. We won't lie, he'll throw in a swipe and the odd hiss. He needs someone calm and patient to win his trust. And a butler who will serve regular meals.

He deserves his shot at a happy ever after.

His fosterer says

"Pete has settled in much better than I was expecting. I'm getting some swats and nips when i'm up and doing things, but he'll sit next to me on the sofa like a perfect angel.

He could definitely do with some little sofa steps to help him get up, since he can have a bit of difficulty pulling himself onto it. Once he's up there though, he's purring away and making biscuits. The only thing he'll get up for is food.

I think with time, he could do great in a quiet home."

11/7/26 update

"He's really become my little shadow. He follows me everywhere and loves to snuggle in, even when it's 30 degrees. I find him outside my bedroom door every morning ready for cuddles and breakfast.

He's started playing with toys a little bit, although he plays very infrequently and doesn't like anything waved near his face. He loves catnip too.

Since Pete wants to spend all day snuggled up, he gets annoyed if you're walking around doing anything that doesn't involve bringing him dinner. He's still giving a little swipe, hiss and a nip, but he's easily told off and goes to sulk for a bit."

He is:

  • Neutered

  • Microchipped

  • Treated to prevent fleas and worms
